The Resource team stayed at Wynn Las Vegas last summer – the peace poolside was interrupted constantly by the sound of construction work going on overhead and all around us, despite the economic crash seeing Vegas’s visitor numbers slump dramatically and local businesses – as well as global empires – suffering. Good news – should those be green roots, as opposed to green shoots? – is tentatively on the horizon for the city’s hotels: according to reports, the overall rate of tourism decline is finally slowing. Helped along, no doubt, by some of the incredible deals to be had if you’ve still got cash to splash and gamble – some room rates are now over 30% cheaper than at this time last year. Treat yourself to five fabulous nights in Vegas – that’s all we could ever manage – and feel like you’re giving the economy a helping hand.
